Studio North – Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 1, 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern participation in classes, workshops, programs, and use of the facilities at Studio North Dance Complex Inc. and Studio North Dance Complex Toronto Inc. (“Studio North,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By registering for, paying for, or attending any class, event, rental, rehearsal, or activity at Studio North, you (“Client,” “Student,” or “Participant”) agree to these Terms.

1. Registration & Enrollment

  • Registration, including signed waivers, is required prior to participation.

  • For minors, a parent or legal guardian must complete registration and accept these Terms.

2. Payment & Fees

  • All class, membership, rental, and program fees are due prior to participation.

  • Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable except as outlined in Section 5 (Cancellations & Refunds).

  • Studio North may suspend or terminate services for non-payment.

3. Attendance & Conduct

  • Timely attendance is expected. Persistent lateness or absence may affect participation.

  • Respectful conduct toward staff, instructors, and peers is required at all times.

  • Studio North reserves the right to remove any participant for conduct deemed unsafe, disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate, without refund.

4. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

  • Participation in dance carries inherent risks of injury, illness, or property damage.

  • By participating, you voluntarily assume all risks and release Studio North, its officers, staff, contractors, and affiliates from any liability, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

  • Participants must follow all safety instructions and notify instructors of any injuries or health concerns prior to class.

5. Cancellations, Refunds & Credits

  • Studio North may cancel, reschedule, or modify classes due to low enrolment, emergencies, instructor availability, emergencies, or other circumstances.

  • In such cases, credits or make-up classes may be offered at Studio North’s discretion.

  • No refunds will be issued for missed classes, late arrivals, or voluntary withdrawal, outside of the early cancellation policy.

6. Media Release

  • By attending Studio North classes or events, participants grant permission for Studio North to photograph, film, or otherwise record their participation for promotional purposes, including social media, website, and marketing materials.

  • If you wish to opt out, you must notify Studio North in writing prior to participation.

7. Studio Rules

  • Proper attire, footwear, and hygiene are required for participation.

  • Food and drink are not permitted in the studios (except water in sealed containers).

  • Unauthorized video or audio recording of classes is prohibited.

8. Privacy & Communication

  • Studio North collects personal information (such as name, contact details, and payment info) solely for the purpose of administering programs and communicating with clients.

  • By registering, you consent to receive communications from Studio North regarding schedules, billing, and promotions.

9. Termination of Services

Studio North reserves the right to terminate enrollment for:

  • Non-payment of fees

  • Breach of these Terms

  • Behavior deemed harmful or disruptive to the Studio community

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada

Studio Policies

In addition to the above Terms, all participants are bound by Studio North’s booking, cancellation, refund, and safety policies:

1. Booking Policy

  • Pre-register on our app or website to secure your spot.

  • Walk-ins are not guaranteed as classes often sell out.

  • Drop-in classes are available for ages 14 and up.

2. Waitlist Policy

  • Once a class is full, you may join the waitlist.

  • If a spot opens, you will be notified.

  • If no spot becomes available, you will not be charged, and your class credit remains on your account.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancel at least 2 hours before class start time to receive a class credit back.

  • Cancellations within 2 hours of start time count as a late cancellation and will be deducted from your account.

  • No-shows are treated as late cancellations.

4. Latecomer Policy

  • Students arriving 15 minutes or more late will not be admitted. Please plan ahead for traffic, parking, and other delays.

5. Refund Policy

  • All purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Early cancellations are credited back to your account.

  • Late cancellations (within 2 hours of class start time) are not credited back.

  • Memberships:

    • Have a 3-month minimum commitment.

    • Cancellation requests must be made before the next billing cycle renews.

6. Class Expirations

  • Drop-in classes and class packs are valid for 3 months from date of purchase.

  • Welcome Offers are valid for 1 month from date of purchase.

7. Studio Safety Policy

Studio North is committed to a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment:

  • Respect for Others: All dancers, staff, and visitors must be treated with kindness and professionalism.

  • Safety First: Behavior that compromises safety — such as harassment, unwanted contact, or inappropriate comments — will not be tolerated.

  • Zero Tolerance: Studio North reserves the right to deny service or access to anyone who violates this policy.

  • Reporting: Concerns can be reported to a staff member or via email. All reports are handled discreetly.

By registering for or attending any class, program, or event at Studio North, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service and Studio Policies.
